Pokémon GO in January: Lunar Year 2023 and Classic Community Day

Following the annual tradition, the Lunar New Year 2023 and to celebrate it, Pokémon GO prepares a very special event among its players. In addition, the same week brings the second Community Day of January. This time it's a Classic Community Day, with Larvitar protagonist.

Lunar New Year 2023 Details

This event starts next January 19 at 10:00, local time, and extends until January 23 at 20:00. The characteristics have to do with the possibility of finding a Shiny Darumaka, as well as improving the chances of getting a lucky Pokémon or making a lucky friendship.

In addition, you get the double stardust when opening gifts, with a maximum of 2 special exchanges per day. The lantern backpack for trainers will be available for sale in the in-game store.

Special Research will also be available: lucky wishes. There will be different avenues of investigation and no matter what wish you choose, everyone will receive a Lucky Egg and event objects. Some will also be found more frequently Wild pokemon, with its variocolor version.
